Terms of Service
Last updated: May 21, 2026
These terms govern your use of BP Couriers' website, mobile app and delivery services in Jamaica. By creating an account or booking a delivery you agree to them.
1. The agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding contract between you ("you", the "Customer") and BP Couriers ("we", "us"). If you don't agree with any part, please don't use the service.
2. Who can use BP Couriers
- You must be at least 18 years old (or have a guardian's consent)
- You must provide accurate contact and address information
- You must not use the service for any unlawful purpose
3. The service
BP Couriers acts as a logistics facilitator: we coordinate independent contractor drivers to collect parcels from your nominated pickup address and deliver them to your nominated drop-off address. We do not act as a common carrier and we do not assume custody of your parcel beyond the period between pickup and delivery.
4. Items we won't carry
You agree not to book a delivery containing any of the following:
- Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or stolen property
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or hazardous materials
- Live animals (unless we have a specific live-pet service agreement)
- Cash, bearer bonds, jewellery over J$50,000 without prior written agreement
- Counterfeit goods or items that infringe third-party intellectual property
- Human remains, body parts, or biological samples requiring chain-of-custody
- Anything prohibited by Jamaican law or the laws of the destination
If we discover prohibited items during transit, we may suspend the delivery, report it to the police, and charge you any costs we incur.
5. Booking, pricing, and payment
- The quote shown at booking is an estimate based on the addresses, weight, and service tier you select
- Pricing is in Jamaican Dollars (JMD) and shown inclusive of any applicable General Consumption Tax (GCT)
- Payment is due on or before pickup. Bookings can be paid via Stripe (card) or invoiced for approved business accounts
- Surge pricing may apply during weather events, holidays, or capacity constraints — this is shown clearly before you confirm
- The final price may be adjusted if the parcel weight or dimensions differ materially from what was declared
6. Cancellations
See our full Refund & Cancellation Policy. In short: free cancellation up to 30 minutes before scheduled pickup; partial refund if a rider is already en route; no refund once the parcel has been collected (you can still re-route to a new drop-off for a fee).
7. Our liability
We carry liability insurance for parcels in transit. Our default cover is up to J$25,000 per parcel for loss or damage caused by our negligence. Higher-value parcels require a declared value upgrade at booking — without that upgrade, J$25,000 is the maximum we will pay regardless of the parcel's actual worth.
We are not liable for:
- Items prohibited under §4 (we never agreed to carry them)
- Delays caused by weather, traffic, road closures, civil unrest, or any other event beyond our reasonable control
- Inaccurate addresses, phone numbers, or recipient details supplied by you
- Indirect, consequential, or commercial-loss damages
8. Disputes and claims
Claims for loss or damage must be lodged within 7 days of the scheduled delivery date by emailing claims@bpcouriers.com with the tracking reference, photos, and a description of the issue. We respond to all claims within 5 business days.
9. Account suspension
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, use the service fraudulently, or chargeback a legitimate payment. Where reasonable, we'll warn you first.
10. Changes to these terms
We may amend these Terms from time to time. Material changes are communicated by email and in-app banner at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Any dispute that cannot be resolved between us will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jamaica.
